Today we are writing about the latest trend in mom’s main accessory at the wedding!
Traditionally, after the officiant walks down the aisle the next in line is the mother of the groom, then the mother of the bride. These two women become the initial focal point that kick off the ceremony. Naturally, these moms are nervous. Their precious daughter or son is getting married; you would be too! That moment every parent dreams of is becoming a reality and all eyes are on the moms!
We are finding that the mothers are preferring to carry a small clutch bouquet. These bouquets are typically a scaled down version of the bridesmaid bouquets.
According to Ian, “When it comes to moms, wrist corsages are a thing of the past (unless for grandmothers.) Women are wearing a more ‘flimsy’ fabric so the pin on corsage will pull the fabric and that just isn’t going to work. The ‘in thing’ is to carry a clutch bouquet and a handkerchief. The bouquet makes the mothers more relaxed, whereas, when carrying a purse they look more tense and tighten their girp and entire posture. This can alter the bodice of the dress and not look as good.”
So, to all of our trendy moms out there: we look forward to making you a special bouquet for your daughter or son’s special day!!
